Hi Rocky,
How are things? I hope you and yours are all enjoying life to the fullest. And I
am absolutely sure you are!
Please update my email address to
atlarge@canada.com. And my nutshell update would be: After two years of law
school at UBC, even though Vancouver/Kitsilano was great, Michelle and I got
tired of the "imposed restriction" lifestyle of commuting between Calgary and
Vancouver. So I'm back in cowboy country, doing third year at U of C. Liking it
a lot, but there's something strange: I haven't pitted out in a single class.
Loved my summer job with the federal Department of Justice, Aboriginal Law
Group, in the Vancouver office. And looking forward to my articles with Attorney
General of Alberta, starting next July. Stepkids are all out making their own
way in life, and life for Michelle and me sometimes seems just too f***ing good
to be real. I hope all the buds feel the same.

Hey Rocky,
I hope this e-mail finds you in good health and spirits. It
was great seeing you at last year's OMM ceremony. Have you had to purchase
any new ties since then (ha,ha)??
Since we last spoke, a lot of things have happened in Janet's
and my life. In Aug 2002, we got married here in Ottawa and shortly
thereafter (Oct 02), I retired from the CF at the rank of Commodore. My last
position was as the Director General Military Human Resources Policy and
Planning. Dan Murphy has since replaced me in that position.
Since that time, I have been working for my friend's small
communications firm here in Ottawa and, Janet & I moved to a beautiful
community in Chelsea, Quebec. Life must have been getting too routine,
because we have decided to totally disrupt our lives by moving to Versailles,
France for a 3-5 year timeframe. I will be working for a NATO agency that
manages the Central European Fuel Pipeline. We will be moving over towards
mid-Nov 03 and I will begin the new job on 1 Dec 03. We are both very excited
at this new opportunity and are looking forward to immersing ourselves into
the French culture.
It goes without saying that any buds passing via Paris are
strongly encouraged to look us up. Whether it is just for a glass of wine, a
meal or a stayover for a couple of weeks, our door will always be open.
Once we get settled in to our apartment, I will e-mail you our
coordinates so that people can get in touch with us.
Great work on the web-page,
Ciao,
JP
