Dear Classmates,
Greetings from Papua New Guinea!
It was a great joy to receive the notice of out 20 Year Reunion from Dave
Pentney. To be remembered in this way means a lot to me. I was greatly
disappointed however to reply that I would not be able to attend. I
therefore send this note of greeetings to you in my stead.
I was so glad when I was able to bring my new wife, Marilyn, to the 10 Year
Reunion. She, being an Aussie, had a wonderful chance to share in the joys
of College life and gain some insight into the inner workings of her new
husband. I know those 'milcol' years were very significant for all of us.
Often I find myself thanking God for them and how they helped to prepare me
for my present work.
While we had hoped to have furlough in Canada this year, we needed to take
furlough last year. It was great to see some classmates like Bill Van Beek
and Mike McAuley. I am also very glad to say that my family and I did
visit the College in September 1995. We had a good day to stroll around
College grounds. It was a great joy to reflect back and tell stories to my
wife and three girls. I especially enjoyed taking my family through the
RMC Museum at Fort Frederic and seeing the recruiting video "Red, White,
and You". We greatly enjoyed seeing the same at the 10 Year Reunion.
So I send this letter to let you know that I will be remembering you all in
prayer 4-6 Oct 96 and that I will have my bagpipes out that weekend. (The
highland of PNG have a cool climate well suited to playing the pipes.) I
would be very glad to hear from any of you and how you are getting on. I
often wonder who in our class might be operational theatres such as Eastern
Europe or other peacekeeping missions.
I close attaching a photo of my family. Have a great reunion!
Yours faithfully,
David Rowsome
